Dr. Ernie Anderson
For more than 30 years, Dr. Ernie Anderson has
been restoring and enhancing the natural beauty of
smiles. Through advanced technology,
state-of-the-art dental equipment and on-going
training and education, Dr. Anderson and his
professional staff strive to promote optimum oral
health and instill the importance of quality dental
care throughout a person's lifetime.
In 1971, Dr. Anderson began practicing general
dentistry and since that time has developed a unique
practice focusing primarily on adult restorative
dentistry.
Many of his patients are referred to his office
by other dentists seeking assistance in handling
complex cases. Dr. Anderson's special focus
includes the construction of crowns and bridges,
implant restoration, TMJ dysfunction involving
problems with the lower jaw and overall bite, and
cosmetic techniques, such as tooth whitening
procedures.
Dentistry has evolved into a complex profession
with high-tech advances and Dr. Anderson has
embraced many innovative procedures. One such
technique involves a computer-controlled particle
beam abrasion tool where traditional "drilling" is
bypassed and cavities are filled comfortably, often
using no anesthesia. Simple solutions, such as a
specialized "sleep appliance" which has offered
excellent results to those who suffer from snoring,
might be recommended. Although Dr. Anderson treats
complex cases, basic dental care is also offered.
As a nationally recognized speaker, Dr. Anderson
travels extensively to further education in the
areas of dental occlusion and restorative
dentistry. Dr. Anderson is on the teaching faculty
of L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental
Education in Florida, and has been a part-time
Prosthodontics professor at the University of Texas
at Houston Health Science Center Dental Branch.
His credentials include a D.D.S. degree from the
University of Texas Dental Branch and several
fellowships: Fellow and Master in The Academy of
General Dentistry, Fellow in The American College of
Dentists, and Fellow in The Academy of Dentistry
International. Dr. Anderson has received the Cooley
Clinic Award, as well as, The University of Texas
Dental Branch's Master Practitioner Award. Dr.
Anderson is a member of The Greater Houston Dental
Society, Texas Dental Association, American Dental
Association, Southwest Academy of Restorative
Dentistry, American Academy of Restorative
Dentistry, The American Academy of Cosmetic
Dentistry and The Crown Council.
Remaining a leader in the field of dental
knowledge and delivering quality dentistry are of
the utmost importance to Dr. Anderson. Equally
important is his involvement in local and remote
area medical and dental clinics; a commitment which
takes him to the Yucatan Peninsula to provide basic
dental treatment to the people there who are without
dental care. Dr. Anderson is also involved with the
SMILES FOR LIFE campaign which assists in raising
funds for children's charities here in Houston and
across the nation.
Dr. Anderson and his wife Karen have 3 children;
two married daughters and a son who is in college.
The Andersons have been residents of the Champion
Area since 1971. Dr. Anderson is an Elder at Grace
Presbyterian Church where he is active in evangelism
and missions. He is a recent Board Member for the
Texas Medical Center's Presbyterian Outreach to
Patients.
With a firm commitment to excellence in dental
health care, Dr. Anderson and his staff continually
seek to provide a warm and caring atmosphere where
people are treated thoughtfully and according to
their individual needs. Caring for the "whole"
person, Dr. Anderson truly embraces the statement
that "patients do not care how much you know until
they know how much you care."
